Civil Motions - Hearing Dates

Procedures for setting a civil motion:

Please notice all motions for 9:00 in Forrest County. To set a motion, please send one copy of the motion along with a copy of the notice to P. O. Box 309, Hattiesburg, MS 39403, or you may e-mail them to Clarissa at ckelly@co.forrest.ms.us. You do not have to call Jerra Runnels, Court Administrator, to set a motion. Please note that Clarissa Kelly, Paralegal/Deputy Court Administrator, handles the Civil Motions. All of our set motions are on the website. If you do not see your motion set, please let Clarissa know.

**** Please note that all motions and responses must be in our office by Wednesday afternoon before the Friday hearing. If you do not have your motion and/or response here, Judge Helfrich will not hear your motion. DO NOT FAX ANYTHING OVER 10 PAGES TO OUR OFFICE. You may e-mail any motions and/or responses to Clarissa.

To cancel a motion, please E-MAIL, Clarissa Kelly. DO NOT CALL TO CANCEL A MOTION. You will receive an e-mail confirming your cancellation. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Judge Helfrich hears Perry County motions in Hattiesburg, so please set any Perry County motions on one of the following dates. Judge Helfrich has been appointed as Special Circuit Court Judge in a number of cases, and those motions should also be scheduled on one of the following dates.

Usually civil motions are the 4th Friday of each month.
