Notice:  Judge Helfrich requires mediation prior to a trial date being set.

Judge Helfrich requires an Agreed Order Setting Cause for Trial.  Please review the list below, and after all parties agree on a date, please e-mail Jerra with the date you wish to reserve.  You will receive an e-mail confirming that date.   Do not circulate an order setting a trial until you have received a confirmation e-mail or you will not have a 1st setting.  At that time you will have a tentative setting, and the date will be taken off of the Open Trial Date List and placed on the Set Trial Calendar.  You will need to get your Order signed by Judge Helfrich within two weeks or you will lose your trial date.  Court Administrator will sign off on the order as well to guarantee the trial is on the Court’s calendar.

Please review the Set Trial Calendar to make sure your case gets on the Calendar.  Contact Jerra at least one week before your trial.  If your case settles, please let the Court know.

*****Failure to follow the procedures could result in you losing your trial date.  There is also the possibility of there not being a jury for your trial, therefore please follow these directions.

*****Effective 1-1-08 – In an effort to ensure that all trials are placed on the set trial calendar, I will sign the bottom of all trial setting orders.  If you get Judge Helfrich to sign an order on a motion day, I will need the original to sign to make sure I have it on my calendar.  I am having a problem not getting copies of all orders when they are signed.  Hopefully this will help.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Jury instructions are due at least three (3) days prior to trial.  If the trial is a bench trial, Judge may require a trial brief.  Please know that the Court may contact attorneys to prepare trial briefs if needed.
